Food
You won't starve in France — the French practically invented food
(or at least they invented the word 'cuisine'). Many areas will have
their own specialities — bouillabaisse in Provence, moules à
la crème (mussels in a cream sauce) in Normandy, and foie gras and
truffles in the Dordogne.
Don't leave without trying:
- Cheese. There are more than 500 varieties. Eat some for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- Snails, or escargots, are delicious when eaten with garlic butter.
- Chocolate crêpes. You'll smell these before you see them. Street
vendors sell crêpes on many street corners in Paris.
- Bread. It will be the best bread you've ever tasted.
Drink
Make sure you take a tour through a famous wine region or just enjoy a drop with your meal.
