Food

You can expect a cheap and hearty meal in the Czech Republic.  Wholesome staples include pork, dumplings, potatoes and pickled cabbage. You won't find a salad easily though

Drink

Apparently there are some great Czech wines available, but for most traveller's Prague is all about the crisp, cheap local beer (or pivo to the locals). Here's are some facts to keep you on the straight and narrow:

Czechs like beer

The Czech Republic is the number one beer drinking nation on the planet, with an annual per capita consummation of some 156 litres.

Lager rules

Most Czech beers are lagers, brewed naturally from hand-picked hops.

I'm a vegetarian and had no trouble finding food - including salad! I was travelling around Czech Republic for two weeks and didn't have problems. The only issues were deciphering the menus.

They have amazing Bramboraky (potato pancakes), Smažený Sýr, (fried cheese!), knedliky (dumplings - i had ones with mushrooms) and make sure you have palačinky (crepes filled with jam or fruit and cream) for dessert! Gold!
