A self-proclaimed upscale hostel, Hostel 99 can be found inside the gates of medieval Ceský Krumlov.
The dorm rooms here are fairly standard, but for not much more you can hire the private apartment — a newly-renovated addition to the hostel.
As well as a spacious bedroom and kitchen area, the apartment has a sparkling en suite (complete with shower gel and shampoo, not to be scoffed at when you’re backpacking), a washing machine, fireplace and a spectacular view of Ceský Castle.
The hostel has its own restaurant and deli, plus a raft you can hire to spend a lazy afternoon cruising along the river with fellow guests.
